Realme Gears Up to Launch Its Latest 16 Pro Series in India on January 6, 2026

Chinese smartphone maker Realme is set to kick off 2026 with a major launch in India. On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the company will unveil the much-anticipated Realme 16 Pro series, including the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+. The launch promises flagship-level cameras, large batteries, and premium displays, targeting India’s competitive mid-range market.

Display & Design

Both models are expected to feature vibrant AMOLED displays with high refresh rates. The Realme 16 Pro is tipped to sport a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and high peak brightness. The 16 Pro+ may offer an even more immersive experience with slimmer bezels, a 94% screen-to-body ratio, and advanced touch-response technology ideal for gaming.

Performance & Software

Under the hood, the 16 Pro+ is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the standard 16 Pro will likely use the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G. Both will run Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 and are promised three years of major Android updates and four years of security patches.

Camera: The Highlight

Camera capabilities are a major focus. Both phones are confirmed to include a 200-megapixel primary rear sensor with Realme’s LumaColor Image-tuned system. The 16 Pro+ is expected to add a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with up to 10x zoom, along with support for 4K HDR video recording at 60fps.

Battery & Charging

Powering the devices will be a massive 7,000mAh Titan battery in both variants. While exact charging speeds are yet to be confirmed, fast charging support is expected, ensuring minimal downtime for heavy users and gamers.

Expected Price in India

Leaked information suggests the Realme 16 Pro could be priced between ₹41,999 to ₹44,999 for the 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB variants. The Pro+ model is expected to be priced higher, reflecting its enhanced features. Official pricing will be announced at the launch event.
